Home style baking, bon vivant fare and exotic beverages continue to make Lola's the choice zone for artists, hikers, storytellers and the community.

The walls are covered with paintings, professional photographs and local crafts, including jewellery, stained glass and CDs by accomplished neighbourhood musicians.

PAT CALDER

Late afternoon or evening is the time Patricia Calder prefers to head out of the house with her camera. The slanted rays at the end of the day add luminosity to land, water, and the coats of animals. She especially likes to capture the many moods, motions, and personalities of horses. She goes into the paddock with them, talks to them, plays with them, and lets them sniff the camera;  then, very often, magically, they pose for her.

When Calder started photographing horses from the side of the road, she didn’t know she would become known as the Horse Photographer, she just had a love of horses.

Catch the magic of Pat Calder photographs at Lola’s Art Room during January.
